CASC Agriculture and Environmental Awareness
This initiative from the Center for Africana Studies and Culture (CASC) in the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis seeks to catalyze Africana Studies faculty academic research and instructional design capabilities to support communities with a relationship to land stewardship as it relates to food security and environmental awareness.
The CASC partners with Legacy Taste of the Garden Farm from Princeton, Indiana, to host the Indiana Black Loam Agricultural Workshop. The conference provides outreach and technical assistance to farmers and producers throughout the State of Indiana.
CASC also works with ecologists to research issues related to learning more about how ecology and wildlife interact with humans, particularly in urban settings and how these connections can affect daily life.
